Ever seen something like this ?? An enormous 11 pounds (5kgs) ovarian cyst !!

Date :- 2024-02-16

A 32-year patient came to us in an emergency with severe abdominal pain and on evaluation with USG we found a complex cystic mass of 1.9*1.7*1.4 in the abdomen. After investigation, we underwent LAPROTOMY and found a huge ovarian cyst. Successfully removed the intact mass of 11 pounds and the patient tolerated the surgery well. Many of these are very large ovarian tumors which are long-standing And usually noncancerous. Nevertheless, they can lead to problems due to mass effects and always have the potential of harboring malignancy or tumor spread which is known only during surgery or final histopathology reports.

Hence early detection is key in treating ovarian cancer..
